A detailed exploration of an early coronavirus variant.
I wrapped a diagram of the coronavirus genome around an illustration of the virus, then represented each mutation as a connecting line between the two.
The concept behind the graphic was to draw the virus as if it were an insect pinned in a museum collection.
Over the course of the pandemic, I adapted and expanded this graphic format across a range of graphics.
